As soon as He speaks my name, my silence is the silence of infinite life, and I know that I am because my heart has opened to my Father in the echo of the eternal years. My life is a listening, His is a speaking. My salvation is to hear and respond. For this, my life must be silent. Hence, my silence is my salvation.
Love is not a problem, not an answer to a question. Love knows no question. It is the ground all and the questions arise only insofar as we are divided, absent, estranged, alienated from that ground.
Solitude has to be a communion in something greater than the world, as great as Being itself, in order that in its deep peace we may find God.
The gift of love is the gift of the power and capacity to love, and therefore, to give love with full effect is also to receive it.
So love can only be kept by being given away, and it can only be given perfectly when it is also received.
